Lightning Conductor Testing

Lightning conductor systems require annual test and inspections. We carry out this service in accordance with current legislation and standards BS EW:62305:2006.

Tests

All tests should be repeated at fixed intervals not exceeding 12 months. It may be adventurous to choose a period slightly shorter than 12 months, in order to vary the seasons in which the tests are made. Each individual earth installed as well as the connected systems will be electronically tested for continuity and resistance to earth.

Visual

The visual inspections is to check the mechanical condition of the conductors, reporting any defects. Taking note of any new additional items of plant/metal that requires bonding. Or any other structural change to the building.

Maintenance

Maintenance works and upgrades may be required if the testing and inspection reveals signs of deteration in the level of protection. Certificates will be provided showing the readings of each earth position and highlighting the outcome of the test.
